Here's what the team are each offering...

Psychology - Nikki Duke

Nikki has 15 years’ experience in the field of mental health and well-being and is fully aware of the dismal statistic that a large majority of people who lose weight will regain that weight within 12 months, also only 3% of ‘dieters’ who reach their goal manage to maintain their weight loss beyond the first year.

Science has made significant progress as to why it is so difficult for chronic dieters to achieve long-term weight loss and through this progress we now have a better understanding of how to go about learning to eat as we were naturally designed to.
If you would like to learn the why and of course, the HOW, this programme is for you!

Nikki’s part in the programme is a weekly 60 minute session held in small groups at her Forrest Hill practice. These sessions will be focused on teaching well researched, useful, and practical skills to help you start weakening habitual unhelpful eating patterns and to replace these with a more natural eating style. We will be exploring the nature of food addiction and the interrelationship between thinking, feelings and overeating and how we find ourselves trapped in vicious cycles that are challenging to escape from. Once we have a good understanding we will start to learn strategies designed to rewire the brain to support your new relationship with food.

Nutrition - Lynda Smith

Lynda has 12 years’ experience and has worked with over 2000 clients, giving down to earth advice on what to eat to suit their goals and lifestyles. While she consults with clients who seek various nutritional outcomes, her passion is helping women lose weight and keep it off through educating and supporting them. Clients find her friendly, down to earth approach and expansive knowledge of all things nutritional most encouraging and helpful.

Lynda firmly believes that no one size fits all and works with her clients to come up with an easy to follow, customised food plan that doesn’t require any special foods.

Lynda’s part in the programme is a one hour initial consultation where she will help you set lifestyle and weight loss goals, draw up a body composition chart and then, in collaboration with you, write a nutrition plan. Then two weeks later she will meet with you for 30 minutes to go over your results, re-measure your body composition, discuss any changes you wish to make and answer any queries you may have. She will then meet with you two weeks later for 15 minutes for a re-measure and discussion of how things are going. Two weeks later, on your last week of the programme, you will meet with Lynda, again for 15 minutes, for a final measure up and overview of your results. These appointments are all private, one on one sessions at Lynda’s Murrays Bay practice.
