By the end of March I find that my new in January clients are starting to ‘fall off’. They start off super keen to get rid of the Xmas excesses, but by the time Easter Bunny has made his appearance their motivation is beginning to falter.
It’s perfectly normal to feel strongly motivated some days (usually Mondays!) and then to have days when you just think "oh too bad, I’ll eat what I like today and start again next Monday". The problem is that too many of the ‘too bad’ days and not enough of the ‘Mondays’ leads to either weight maintenance or weight gain.
If you are sitting on the fence, remember there are only two ways you can go, crash over the fence and feel disappointed with yourself and have to start again at some future date, or scrape yourself back up and give it another shot. There is never any shame in detouring from your plan, it’s completely normal to do so, but nip it in the bud quickly and let’s get together to write a new food plan and set a new, short term target to reach, to get you back in the right frame of mind.
